Let's face it...

Getting a job seems like a breeze. You fill out an application, you get an interview, and you get hired. Unfortunately, it's rarely that easy. There is an endless assortment of things that can keep you from being hired, and employers will almost never tell you what those things are. That's what this site is for.

Fortunately, there are some things you can do to increase your chances. I've looked at thousands of applications and interviewed dozens (if not hundreds) of people, and it always struck me how a very small screw-up can ruin an otherwise good person's chances of getting hired. Those who do get hired are often not the best candidates; they just have a better understanding of the hiring process.
